Frequently asked questions
How is semester GPA calculated?
Multiply each course’s grade points by its credit hours, add those quality points, then divide by total credits. For example, an A (4.0) in a 3-credit class contributes 12 quality points.
What does weighted AP/IB mean here?
When a course is marked weighted, we add 1.0 to its 4.0-scale points and cap at 5.0 (so an A becomes 5.0). Schools differ—use the option only if yours boosts AP or IB this way.
How do you convert a percent to GPA points?
Percents map to a banded 4.0 scale: 93–100 → 4.0, 90–92 → 3.7, 87–89 → 3.3, and so on down to below 60 → 0.0. Exact school cutoffs can vary.
